Welcome to the hungry hippie meal plan
We are so happy that you chose us to nourish you!
We’re sure that you know about The Hungry Hippie, but we wanted to share a little bit more about what we feel makes us special!
First it’s food you can feel good about! Each week I visit a variety of local farms (from NJ to upstate NY) to get the highest quality and freshest produce available. I’m developing relationships with the farmers so they are sharing new products and favorable cooking techniques and I’m bringing all this back to you! In addition to fresh produce our list of ingredients that we avoid is always growing. WE currently don’t use any of the following:
Genetically Modified Ingredients
Soy
Refined Vegetable Oils - Including Canola Oil
High Fructose Corn Syrup
Artificial or Natural Flavoring
Dyes
Refined Sugar or inflammatory Sugar Substitutes like Equal and Sweet ‘n Low
Animal Products
Gluten
Carageenan and other inflammatory fillers and gums
Caramel Color
I also run a little to zero waste kitchen. One of my passions is the environment. I do my part by recycling, using less one use products, and carrying around my Swell bottle, but now that I am running a business food waste has become higher on my radar. I make a point to cook root to tip. For example using the leaves of the cauliflower. I accidentally left these on when I was cooking a cauliflower once and fell in love with the taste. Another thing I do is save all of the veggie scraps from our prep and make fresh vegetable broth out of them. This broth is the base to all the soups, is in the dressings, and the liquid used to cook the grains. I can’t wait to see how this evolves into composting for our future garden and so much more.
The final thing I want to say is that this is more than just a business to me. You have became part of my hippie family and I value you more than you could even know.
Keep scrolling for more details that you need to know about!
Since you’re new I wanted to take a few minutes to explain how everything works!
On Sunday or Monday depending on where you live, you will receive your order.
On Sunday morning you will receive an email explaining more about the meals. Where I got inspiration, food pairings, and any heating instructions.
New menus are released on Monday afternoons, we post them on Instagram, Facebook, and send an email out
Orders for the following week are due by Thursday at 10AM, this is so I can have enough time to go to the farms and grocery stores to get all of the fresh produce to start prepping!
If you love what we’re serving up and want to share with your friends - you’ll get rewarded! Visit this page to learn more!
